It is the 1941 and travelling by bus can become an adventure if the bus is an old machine running by a steam engine that eventually can be used to grill pork meat purchased in a farm along the road. Moreover the bus is driven by a moron and managed by his insane father who would not stop in the middle of the moorland to load a passenger if there is not a bus stop, and would check the tickets every now and then in the middle of nothing. The passengers also are a bunch of miserable and lunatics who contribute with their psychosis to prolong the journey, interrupted every now and then by the encounter of remarkable characters. In between the war and a liberating singing that tells the story they are living.
